Good afternoon and I hope the buds of spring are appearing in your life, at the very least metaphorically, as they are physically here in Vancouver.

The joy of walking along the beach with a coaching client last week reminded me of a vital lesson for us all. Facing some physical and emotional pain, a sick Mum, and other stressors, the client went quiet for a moment. The wind off the water was refreshing, the smell of the tide out filled our noses, gulls cried, and a dog or two barked in the park next to the beach. After a minute or so of silence, the client said, "I only have one life. I better make it mine."

What an amazing and profound couple of sentences! "I only have one life. I better make it mine."

I'm curious, what do these sentences inspire in you?  What do these sentences mean for you as a leader, and as a person? No need to respond, though, please, sit with them for a time this week. And may we each find this week, the gift of our own lives.
